Peter O’Reilly | Managing Partner
Peter O’Reilly studied Law at UCD and qualified as a solicitor in 1977.
He is the third generation of O’Reilly in the firm and has been our managing partner since 1987. He has extensive experience over a large spread of practice areas. His principle focus has been in litigation. He has acted for most major overseas and indigenous insurers. He is also involved in our commercial side from corporate to property.
He sits on the Board of the Muiriosa Foundation and on the board of a number of private companies.

Michael O’Shaughnessy | Partner
Michael joined the Firm in 1961 and while working he put himself through Law School qualifying as a solicitor in 1974. He became a partner in 1980.
Over the years Michael has amassed a wealth of knowledge in the area of trusts, estates, related taxation issues and property. He acts for an extensive range of clients, including trustees, property developers and private clients.
He handles all legal aspects of large scale, complex residential and commercial developments including office developments, licensed premises and retail outlets. On a daily basis Michael deals with large and complex estate planning and related taxation issues.
He is well known and highly regarded by his colleagues and peers.

Anthony O’Rourke | Partner
Tony qualified as a solicitor in 1969 having studied at UCD and obtaining a BCL degree. He became a partner in 1974.
He leads the commercial and property team within the practice. He has considerable experience in company law, commercial and insolvency matters acting for financial institutions, individuals, receivers and liquidators.
Tony has handled some of the largest property redevelopment schemes in Dublin’s history. He was involved from inception with the redevelopment of the Temple Bar area.
He advises on, supervises and lectures on licensing matters. He is involved on a daily basis with institutional clients including a large educational body. Recently, Tony Advised Ellier (Hanover Quay) Limited on multiple office lettings in Hanover Reach to Facebook.

Fiona Duffy | Partner
Fiona studied at University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin and the Law Society of Ireland. She was admitted as a solicitor in Ireland in 1980 and in England and Wales in 2010. She is Chair of the Litigation Committee of the Law Society in Ireland, a member of the Circuit Court Rules Committee and a member of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
Fiona is a litigator with over 25 years’ experience. Throughout her career, Fiona has represented clients in all types of litigation, dealing with contract, landlord and tenant, defamation, medical negligence and personal injuries actions. She has been involved in cases at every level.
Fiona has extensive experience in the area of Assisted Human Reproduction (IVF), regenerative medicine, fertility treatment and surrogacy. Fiona’s experience stems from years of service on the Ethics Committee of a major maternity hospital in Dublin and as legal adviser and member of a University College Dublin working group which was established to advise the University Research Ethics Committee on Regenerative Medicine and Research. She has unrivalled experience in advising Clients on all aspects of assisted human reproduction, including surrogacy arrangements and cross border parenting. Fiona has written and spoken extensively on the subject.

Allan O’Connor | Partner
Allan studied at University College Dublin obtaining a BCL degree. He was admitted to the role of solicitors in 1981. Allan is a member of the Family Lawyers Association and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association and tutors in the Law Society for the professional practice course.
He has a diploma in applied financial law and e-commerce and a diploma in property tax. Allan joined the firm in 1995.
Allan advises insurance companies in all aspects of insurance litigation including policy disputes and arbitration. He advises clients on personal injury, litigation and professional indemnity matters and practises in commercial litigation.
Allan has extensive experience in family law matters, including those involving complicated trust issues and leads the Family Law Team within the practice.

Patricia Heavey | Partner
Patricia studied at University College Dublin, DIT and the Law Society of Ireland.
She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners and; Commercial Litigation Association of Ireland. She is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and sits on the Law Society’s Business Law Committee.
Patricia has over 10 years’ experience in litigation matters with particular emphasis on commercial, banking and contractual disputes, commercial recovery and employment law. She has wide experience in acting for financial institutions and borrowers in contentious matters.

Michael R. Crowley | Partner
Michael studied at the National University Ireland Galway and UCD. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors January 2012. He is a member of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.
Michael has worked with Patrick F. O’Reilly & Co. for over seven years in the Commercial Property Department. Michael advises on all aspects of general commercial property law including acquiring, selling and developing commercial property for institutional clients, multiple retailers and developers as well as private individuals. He has wide experience in drafting and negotiating commercial lease arrangements and advising on all aspects of Landlord and Tenant law. Michael also advises on the property aspects of share sales, acquisitions and disposals.

Jacinta O’Sullivan | Solicitor
Jacinta graduated from Griffith College Dublin in 2004 with a degree in Irish law. She was admitted to the roll of Solicitors in January 2015.
Jacinta has been working with Patrick F. O’Reilly & Company for the last eight years working mainly in the area of conveyancing, landlord and tenant, commercial, probate and trust law. She is responsible for the preparation of all documents for the financing, acquisition and sale of commercial and residential properties, as well as leases and commercial agreements.
Since qualifying Jacinta has worked in the private client department and has gained experience in areas such as complex will drafting, including tax planning, wardship and probate matters to include the preparation of probate applications, inheritance tax returns and the distributions of estate assets.

Yvonne Moran | Legal Executive
Yvonne commenced her employment with the Firm in 1986. While working she continued her education, obtaining a Diploma in Legal Studies and a Certificate in European Law from DIT as well as four of the FE1 examinations. She works as a legal executive having in excess of 28 years’ experience.
In her involvement with several large Commercial and High Court actions the she has become an expert in all areas of civil litigation, including breach of contract / specific performance, professional negligence, public liability, nuisance claims, personal injury and defamation. Yvonne has a particular expertise in the area of discovery working with clients in seeking Orders for Discovery against parties and non-parties as well as drafting lengthy and complex Affidavits of Discovery.

Annette Byrne | Legal Executive
Annette Byrne who is a legal executive joined the firm in 1999 having worked for many years in the retail business. She attended DIT where she studied law. She obtained a Diploma in Legal Studies in 2001 and a Bachelor of Laws in 2010.
Annette works in the Litigation Department and has extensive experience in dealing with civil litigation matters from commencement of proceedings to settlement/trial covering areas such as nuisance, personal injury and defamation as well as recovery claims in the High Court and Circuit Court.
In addition Annette has extensive Family Law experience. She works closely with Allan O’Connor. She is familiar with the workings of and regularly attends the Family Law Courts.

Mary Deane | Office Manager
Mary is the Financial Controller/Practice Manager of the Firm. She joined the Firm in 1974 having spent some years in the retail business.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Accountants in Ireland
Mary is the person with responsibility for ensuring that all systems run smoothly and for the day to day financial functioning of the office.
