Peter O’Reilly, Managing Partner
Peter O’Reilly is the managing partner and has been since 1987. He is the third generation of O’Reilly to fill that role. He has a large spread of practice areas. His principle focus has been in litigation. He has acted for most major overseas and indigenous insurers. He is also involved in our commercial side from corporate to property.
He sits on the Board of the Muireosa Foundation (a charitable organisation) and on the board of a number of private companies.
Michael O’Shaughnessy, Partner
Michael has been a partner with the firm since 1980 and acts for an extensive range of clients, including trustees, property developers and private clients. He handles all legal aspects of large scale residential and commercial developments including office developments, licensed premises and retail outlets. Michael advises Temple Bar Cultural Trust (formerly Temple Bar Properties Limited) the body responsible for the continued development and management of the Temple Bar Area. Michael handles large and complex estate planning and related taxation issues.
Anthony O’Rourke, Partner
Tony leads the commercial and property team within the practice. He has considerable expertise in company law and insolvency acting for financial institutions, individuals, receivers and liquidators. Tony handled some of the largest property redevelopment schemes in Dublin’s history. He advises on, supervises and lectures on licensing matters. He is involved on a daily basis with institutional clients including a large educational body.
Fiona Duffy, Partner
Fiona is a litigation specialist having in excess of twenty years experience. Fiona has represented clients in all types of litigation, ranging from contractual matters to Landlord and Tenant difficulties, and financial recovery. Fiona also has a broad range of experience dealing with defamation, medical negligence and personal injuries actions. Additionally Fiona is a recognised expert in the area of assisted human reproduction, regenerative medicine, fertility and surrogacy. Fiona served on the Ethics Committee of the National Maternity Hospital for in excess of fifteen years. She is a member of a working group in UCD established to advise the Research in Ethics Committee on regenerative medicine. She has unrivalled experience in advising Clients on all aspects of surrogacy arrangements and cross border parenting.
Allan O’Connor, Partner
Allan specialises in advising insurance companies in all aspects of insurance litigation including policy disputes and arbitration. He advises clients on personal injury, litigation and professional indemnity matters and practises in commercial litigation.Allan leads the Family Law Team within the practice.
Patricia Heavey, Solicitor
Patricia has extensive involvement in litigation matters with particular emphasis on commercial disputes, contractual disputes, commercial recovery and employment law. She has wide experience in acting for financial institutions in contentious matters; on the appointment of receivers; including appointments to the properties of individuals; and company receiverships. Patricia acts for employers and employees in contentious and non contentious matters. She also advises on licensing law and has developed the firm’s expertise in licensing laws. The firm acts for the Licensed Vintners Association. Patricia is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales.
Colm O’Shaughnessy, Solicitor
Colm is a recently qualified solicitor who joined the firm in 1998. He works in our property department dealing in all areas of residential, commercial and landlord & tenant law. Other areas of practice include probate, family and various District Court matters. Colm has wide experience dealing with private and commercial clients including lending institutions and semi-state bodies.
Ciaran O’Shaughnessy, Solicitor
Ciaran works with a large base of private clients dealing with all aspects of residential and commercial property including acquisitions, sales and landlord and tenant law. He has also
gained considerable experience in our litigation department including , property litigation, probate litigation, landlord and tenant litigation and debt collection.
Ciaran also has extensive experience in the area of probate and trust law. He advises corporate and private clients on the creation, taxation, management and determination of trusts. Ciaran is a
registered Trust and Estate Practitioner and a member of the International Society of Trust andEstate Practitioners. He is also admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales.
Yvonne Moran, Legal Executive
Yvonne is an experienced legal executive at the firm covering areas of civil litigation, including breach of contract, professional negligence, nuisance claims, personal injury, defamation and recovery claims. She works with clients in seeking Orders for Discovery against parties and non parties to actions as well as drafting Affidavits of Discovery.
Annette Byrne, Legal Executive
Annette has been with the firm since 1999. She works closely with Allan O’Connor in dealing with litigation and Family Law matters.
Michael R. Crowley, Trainee Solicitor
Michael works with the commercial property team at the firm and oversees all aspects of property purchases and sales from contract through to closing as well as registering mortgages, vacates and cautions and dealing with Land Registry queries.
