AGREEMENT FOR LEASE BINDS GUARANTOR

In a judgment of Mr. Justice Hogan delivered on the 15th October 2014 he confirmed that a guarantor was bound to pay the lessor the rent due on foot of a Lease despite the fact that the Tenant never went into occupation and the Lease itself was never delivered to the Tenant. In granting Summary Judgment Judge Hogan confirmed a long established legal principle that an agreement for Lease is as good as a Lease. The full judgment is available here
