Fiona studied at University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin and the Law Society of Ireland. She was admitted as a solicitor in Ireland in 1980 and in England and Wales in 2010. She is Chair of the Litigation Committee of the Law Society in Ireland, a member of the Circuit Court Rules Committee and a member of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
Fiona is a litigator with over 25 years’ experience. Throughout her career, Fiona has represented clients in all types of litigation, dealing with contract, landlord and tenant, defamation, medical negligence and personal injuries actions. She has been involved in cases at every level.
Fiona has extensive experience in the area of Assisted Human Reproduction (IVF), regenerative medicine, fertility treatment and surrogacy. Fiona’s experience stems from years of service on the Ethics Committee of a major maternity hospital in Dublin and as legal adviser and member of a University College Dublin working group which was established to advise the University Research Ethics Committee on Regenerative Medicine and Research. She has unrivalled experience in advising Clients on all aspects of assisted human reproduction, including surrogacy arrangements and cross border parenting. Fiona has written and spoken extensively on the subject.
